MARTIN TIELLI painted the cover. Originally, I had wanted him to paint me as a reptile, but Martin had a better idea, and showed me a painting he made a long time ago. It was of a MOSASAUR. A dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous period. The painting was a scientifically accurate depiction of a mosasaur, but its white underbelly looked eerily like a woman swimming. It was perfect. For the cover, Martin accentuated the woman's form so she couldn't be mistaken. Some people see the woman first. Others, the reptile. One woman thought she saw a chair tied to the top of a bus, but she later confessed she'd only seen the bus. The chair had been a bold-faced lie.
